‘It’s been very worthwhile. A good atmosphere, excellent facilities in this recently refurbished venue. BBEx is already part of our 2007 marketing plan.’ Kevin Turner, SM Group

New People
01 Apr 2006
‘We’re very pleased. We’ve got a well-established customer base and we’ve been busy persuading them to come for the last two weeks – and they have. We’ve had some new people on the stand, too. And I’d rather be here than Windsor any day.’
Andrew Humber, Lalizas -
Networking
01 Apr 2006
‘It’s been really good and we’ve seen some people we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. There’s been a lot of networking and it’s a good way of finding out what’s going on in the industry; one visitor to the stand has given me a really good marketing idea. I’ll definitely be coming back next year.’
James Cooney, Cooney Marine -
Excellent
01 Apr 2006
‘An excellent first morning. It’s the first time we’ve exhibited in the UK and it was a good decision. We’ve had a steady flow of exactly the people I came here to meet’,
Paul Chown, Fendercovers Worldwide Ltd -
Can’t fault
01 Apr 2006
‘By close of day on Wednesday, we had already exceeded our sales for the whole of the last Windsor show. We had people on the stand we’d never seen at an exhibition before. Can’t fault the show. It’s been excellent. Also the BMF stand and facilities have been an invaluable asset.’
Mike O’Neill, Victory Marine -
Better Than LIBS
01 Apr 2006
‘It’s better than LIBS. The girls have done an excellent job and we’ve had some interesting leads. We’ve seen more people on day one here than in three days at London. I know where I’d rather be,’
David Okey, Mermaid Marine -
Slick
01 Apr 2006
‘It struck me immediately that it’s a very slickly presented exhibition,’
Roan Fair, Bournemouth Echo -
Impressed
01 Apr 2006
‘We flew in from Guernsey on Wednesday and stayed over. It’s been very worthwhile and we’re most impressed, especially with the general layout. We used to go to Windsor but I must say it’s nice to have a solid building and no lumps of mud. Most of the people I wanted to see are here. We came with some top up orders for people I knew would be here but bought some extras, too. I’d definitely come back next year.’

Spectacular
01 Apr 2006
‘We used BBEx to launch our GOTOP range of clothing. We were very encouraged at the end of the first day and Thursday morning was spectacular,’ Adrian Hamlett, Yachtkit Ltd

First blood to Watermota
01 Apr 2006
‘We negotiated a £15,000 order in the first 30 minutes of the show,’ said Mike Beecham of Watermota, with a grin on his face. ‘We’re supplying a Daewoo/Doosan unit to G&C Marine of Poole, which they will install in a new 12m angling charter vessel. ‘What a great way to start the show!’

Positive
01 Apr 2006
‘The quality of people on the stand is good, as opposed to at the Boat Show, where 1 in 50 is serious. It’s been positive in terms of getting new distributors. It was a long way to come from Belfast but we’re not disappointed.’ John Player, Bio Tek/Penguin Engineering

Amazing
01 Apr 2006
‘It’s been an impressive show. The venue is excellent and the organisation has been amazing. The big brands could find they’re a missing a trick by not participating.’ Peter Drury, Quayside Shoes

Excellent venue
01 Apr 2006
‘Good enquiries and I’d expect to be here next year. Of the people I’ve seen, if they’re interested, they’re really interested – not like at a boat show. And it’s a really good hall. You wouldn’t want to go back to a marquee after this!’ Mark Steels, Hindle Marine

Perfect
01 Apr 2006
‘There’s a lovely atmosphere here and it feels very friendly. The security is very good and off-loading was simple. Bournemouth is the perfect location and the facilities offered by BIC are outstanding,’ Martin Edgerton, YachtKit Ltd

Brilliant
01 Apr 2006
‘It’s a pretty damned good day. One of the best days ever. We’ve probably taken as much today as at any trade show. We deliberately came with just new products or offers. The people who’ve come here have come here to do business. They’re the right people. We targeted the show as a chandlers show, not a OEM show. To be honest, I didn’t think it was going to be this good – it’s been brilliant. And it certainly beats a tent in a muddy field and the time of year couldn’t be better. People want to buy stock and then sell it, not hang on to it for 6 months,’
Tim Millinder, Marathon Leisure -
Potential
01 Apr 2006
‘We’ve had lots of enquiries from some big potential customers and we really like this stand. It’s cut our set up time by 75%. We’re definitely coming next year,’ Colin Burns, Fibreglass Grating Ltd

New Stuff
01 Apr 2006
“An excellent show. We spent a whole day there and could have done with more time. Plenty of new stuff to see; we did a lot of business and got some excellent deals. BBEx is back to the Sandown Park standard,” Jim Thomson, Harbour Chandlers (visitor).
