Simpler circuits

'The switch and breaker panels are very easy to fit and can usually be done in minutes rather than the hours it often takes to fit a conventional system,' says Paul Krivosich of Loom-Tech.

The company is also developing a unique circuit panel reduction system to be launched later this year. These systems decrease the size of the control panels by reducing the quantity of circuit breakers attached directly to it by putting them elsewhere in the system - away from this particularly tight area.

As Mr Krivosich explains: 'It reduces the confusion of switches which are often found in the command section of the boat: this also means in the event of an emergency - like a pump failing and starting to burn out - you can quickly find and isolate the circuit.'

Loom-Tech has now reached its 10th year in business and by way of celebration has sponsored part of Francis Whittley's (Shakespeare International Marine) entry into this summer's 2008 Round Britain Offshore Powerboat Race. Loom-Tech has provided wiring loom systems and race-designed switch panels for the boat, Fugitive.
